I picked the boat anchor up at my Sam's Club, with the intent of up dating my files over the holiday week. Unpacked, and set up the hardware, as the instructions required. Loaded the CD, but the program would not completely open.

I followed all of the instructions many times, but the program would not load. I spent many hours trouble shooting, both the package, and my desk top. No phone number provided for support, just email address. I emailed for support, no reply.

I emailed Sales, with no direct reply, but a few days later I got a reply from support, with a case number assigned to my letter to sales. I filled out a question list requested, and sent the reply. Days later I got a reply, with two steps to repair the program, or make it open and run! Time line on this 12/30/14 to 01/13/15 = 14 Days!!!! I was so excited for this 'high-speed' scanner. Oh the frustration and disappointment that I experienced with it!

First of all, I absolutely could NOT get the software to open after installing it on my MacBook Pro. I'm not a computer guru, but I'm fairly capable. There was nothing online that was helpful and I could not find a solution to the problem. Second attempt I tried my PC (without internet connection). That was absolutely a no-go because you MUST have internet to be able to use the software (requires registration first). Third time's a charm, right?

Well, not so much. I loaded the software onto a PC laptop that had internet connection and was able to scan some documents. The documents scanned at a rapid rate (when they weren't jamming and the software wasn't crashing), but the 'processing' of the documents took literally an hour for 20 pages of text and half the time there would be an 'error code'. The scanning quality wasn't great either.

This is absolutely unacceptable for a $350+ 'scanner'. Will be returned immediately. I've since purchased an Epson Workforce 2-sided scanner/printer/copier/fax in-one for a whooping $124! I can wirelessly scan and print (color) from all of my computers, tablets, and phones! I also have the option to scan directly to the cloud, a memory stick, email, or my computer. It's flawless, efficient, and has tons of features for less than 1/2 the price! Would NEVER recommend wasting your time messing around with the Neat Scanner.
